First things first
FIRST THINGS FIRST....
Personal Assessment
Before assessing the business, we first need to determine what you need from your business. Our starting point helps us to align your business objectives with your personal objectives, by first determining what is that you really want and need from your involvement. In a private 'alignment' consultation, we measure the relative importance of the business to your longer-term financial prosperity and determine the tasks needed to get your personal affairs in order. The process starts with determining your objectives and reasons for being in business. Knowing what you want is very important. The discovery process covers three important areas:
· Your personal finances – review of your income, tax, risk management and retirement planning.
· You and your business – a review of your role in the business, the supporting team, readiness for sale and level of management information.
· Your Quality of Life – a review of your health, appetite to continue to drive the business, enjoyment, work / life balance, outside interests and ‘life mission, vision and values’.
The results of this analysis is put into a document called the ‘Personal Blueprint’, which captures your personal situation and needs. Once these are understood and summarised, the goals of the business can be put into context.
Business Assessment
In this part of the process, we conduct a comprehensive analysis of your business and your role in the business. You will learn how to identify and monitor critical financial and non-financial indicators in your business to make sure you are moving in the right direction. You will also receive a follow up consultation, which includes a Business Performance Review and a detailed Profit Improvement Potential analysis. Once your personal goals are evaluated and set in the alignment process, we then review the external factors that affect the business, such as customers, competitors, industry, and technology. Finally, we will take you through a series of critical questions that are related to the following key performance areas of your business. After our analysis is complete, you will receive a detailed report that reviews the strategic position of your business and its operational performance. This assessment is essentially a ‘health check’ and report on how well you are doing in each area of your business and how this impacts on your life. From here the Business Growth Program can commence.
